It was intenseley bright, lacking dramatically in contrast and skewed so heavily towards green and yellow that it was obvious to the naked eye that this was not correct regardless of what the sensor might say.State of the Art Instrument for Unrivaled Color Measurement Accuracy Weirdly, it actually seemed to have the original one I had prior to calibration selected.Īs soon as I switched to the colormunki generated profile, it went beserk, it was totally different to how the screen looked at the end of the calibration when colormunki display declared the calibration complete and saved the profile. I wanted to switch to that original profile and then back to the one colormunki display had created for me with the name it generated for me based on the date and time. The thing is, I've found that the software for the colormunki has always been a bit weird and tricky with the before and after comparisons section, for example I've seen it previously compare against a different colour profile than the one the monitor had prior calibration, some generic one rather than what had been in place previously.įor curiosity I decided to switch to the one the monitor had prior to calibrating, in the system preference for display in the 'color' tab. I did the comparisons, the change was very very subtle although I found this reassuring because I figured that meant that out of the box the colour was pretty much accurate within the spec and limitations of the monitor itself. It ran through its paces, then said it was complete and gave me a series of images to look through with before and after buttons to compare. I ran the Colormunki display application, measured the ambient light and hooked it up against the screen to run the 5 minute calibration test. As far as I can tell the colour seems fine to me, but since I have one and since I will be doing video editing I thought I may as well use my colormunki to calibrate the monitors.
